CNC lathe sold at MACH 2008 on first day

Tag: lathe cutting tool Leader CNC reported that Jaycee Engineering of Brownhills, Walsall, UK, bought a DMC CNC lathe on day one of the UK's MACH 2008 machine tool exhibition. Leader CNC of Nuneaton, UK, made a machine sale on the first day of the MACH 2008 event Jaycee Engineering of Brownhills, Walsall, had reviewed the market for a 2-axis turning centre for some time and conducted one last examination of potential products at MACH before making its decision to acquire a DMC CNC lathe Later in the show, Double G Engineering placed an order with Leader CNC for a larger 12S DMC machine. The loader, said Leader, had already won several innovation awards in Europe. This automated loader has the ability to feed bars, change parts between operations and store/retrieve billets within the built-in storage unit. Now the UK Monforts Agent, Leader CNC used MACH to show the exceptional MHC Pick-up CNC lathe, which was fully integrated with a Fanuc robot. Having already secured a GBP 350,000 order for a Monforts turning centre in the UK - the first since 1999 - the high specification range of Monforts turning centres with their patented hydrostatic guideways is already gaining further orders. Leader CNC, is a long-standing European Main Dealer for Toshiba and Kitamura range of machining centres in the UK. Leader told manufacturingtalk that it had had a considerable increase in orders. Such UK interest was accelerated at MACH 2008 with a remarkably high number of enquiries for machining centres and boring machines, said Leader. Shown at MACH was the Kitamura Mycenter HX400i(sigma) that has a rigid BT40 taper spindle driven by an AC18.5kW drive motor with a two-speed geared drive head. With a high spindle speed and an output torque of 270Nm, the machine was said by leader to be ideal for hard metal machining. Leader showed the machine cutting tool steel with a hardness of 59 HRC and the mirror like finish clearly demonstrated the box way rigidity of the machine. Kitamura machines combine exceptional accuracy with impressive production rates. One customer recently committed itself to 10 machines with the first two already installed, reported Leader CNC.
